    job description

    Our client is seeking a dynamic design and review engineer with a strong background in plant utility systems to help service small to large capital projects in the mid-Atlantic region. The successful candidate will have the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

    Responsibilities

    • Technical review of current plant utility systems associated with existing operational client facility. This will include a review of recently completed balancing reports and current chemical treatment procedures.
    • Technical review of new CRB Engineering Basis of Design documents issued May 2016 as pertaining to plant utility systems (including tie-ins, pipe rack routing, redundancy, etc.) as well as any Value Engineering measures put forth during pre-construction/procurement phase.
    • Technical review during CRB Detailed Design phase pertaining to plant utility systems.
    • Oversight of construction activities as they relate to plant utility systems. This will include ensuring compliance with project specifications, drawings, approved submittals and testing. It will also include enforcement of as-built requirements, participation in punch list activities and quality assurance.
    • Oversight of plant utility commissioning by ensuring system start-up and BMS checkout is performed prior to handover to commissioning agent for functional testing.
    • Coordinator between construction and facility personnel in scheduling/planning of shutdowns, tie-in locations, relocations, etc. for existing plant utilities. This includes ensuring that Facilities is aware of any impairment plans submitted by Construction Manager.
    • Attend Owner/Engineering/Construction & Commissioning meetings as needed.

    Requirements

    • 10+ years experience with directly leading the successful delivery of a large scale Bulk Drug Substance plant.
    • Proven experience in engineering / project or construction management, project engineering for larger and / or complex (capital) investment projects within the pharmaceutical industry.
    • Experience leading and delivering a retro-fit project in an approved operating facility required.
    • Knowledge of Drug Substance process operations is an advantage.
    • Working knowledge of GMPs and the regulatory process.
    • Experience with the following plant utility systems: WFI, Clean Steam, Clean Dry Compressed Air, Process Gases, HVAC, Steam, Condensate, Chilled Water (Primary & Secondary), Condenser Water, Process Water, Heating Hot Water, Medium & Low Pressure Air Systems, Natural Gas, Electrical Power & Distribution, Emergency & UPS Power, Domestic Cold & Hot Water, Sanitary & Storm Drainage
