OPERATION EXCELLENCE LEADER opportunity at a well established manufacturing firm at a location in Delaware. Need BS Degree and minimum 5 years experience including solid Continous Improvement manufacturing experience. A PLUS to have Master Black Belt or be in the certification process. Appproximate travel 20%. Includes relocation.

Responsibilities for the Program Manager

  • Overall responsibility for leading and driving continuous improvement thinking and behavior working with site leadership to achieve significant improvements to business processes that are linked to site strategy and focused on the customer, resulting in balanced scorecard improvements
  • Lead and manage all standardized continuous improvement activities across the site, aligned with the business system acting as a change agent, systematically driving a continuous improvement culture
  • Maintain a site-wide lean roadmap aimed at meeting site business goals and evolving the continuous improvement culture, with an ongoing focus on improving safety, productivity, quality, delivery and customer allegiance (external and internal)
  • Lead hands-on PPI, kaizen and lean workshops for site leaders and associates, effectively training on and employing techniques such as VSM, daily management, standard work, problem solving, 3P/layout, cell design, material flow, TPM, SMED, 5S and visual management
  • Facilitate the development and maintenance of an ongoing improvement project funnel

Requirements for the Program Manager

  • BS Degree in Engineering or a related field OR other relevant degree
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment and/or a combination of both education and experience with Solid understanding of lean principle and lean technical/tools skills, project management experience and decision-making capability
  • A PLUS to have Master’s degree and Black belt certification
  • Working knowledge of multiple business functions, including operations, quality, logistics, finance, sales, customer service, engineering, IT and human resources
  • Experience leading strategy deployment and goal deployment, and developing a site-side lean roadmap with demonstrated results
  • Proven track record leading, coaching, and implementing a variety of Kaizen teams
  • Effective project management skills and Executive level presentation skills
  • Ability to travel 20%
  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
