An Environmental Engineer is needed for a leading heavy industrial manufacturing organization. The Environmental Engineer is responsible to ensure that compliance with all air, water, and solid waste environmental permits, as well as perform new project environmental permitting. Qualified candidates must have a degree in engineering or environmental science, and 4+ years’ experience working heavily with environmental permitting and creating reports for a manufacturing, specialty chemical, refinery, or power generation facility. This is a direct hire position located in Houston, TX. Our client prefers local talent but relocation may be considered for qualified regional candidates.

Responsibilities for the Environmental Engineer

  • Ensure organizational Title V and state air permit compliance
  • Conduct monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting compliance
  • Prepare deviation reports and annual compliance certifications
  • Work with consultants and operations personnel on authorization of new or modified sources, permit renewals and modifications
  • Review environmental impacts of capital projects

Requirements for the Environmental Engineer

  • Degree in engineering or environmental science
  • 4+ years’ experience working heavily with environmental permitting and creating reports for a manufacturing, specialty chemical, refinery, or power generation facility
  • Knowledge of Title V compliance, State Air Permits, SPCC and SWP3 - compliance and monitoring, waste management and RCRA requirements
  • Prior experience reviewing environmental impacts of capital projects
  • Prior experience conducting environmental audits
