A leader in power and automation technologies is currently seeking an Assembly Technician in the Richmond, VA area. This is a 6-month CONTRACT position. No per diem available.


  • Candidate will perform type and routine testing and inspection of traction converters per test procedures, using standard and specialized test equipment, within the routed testing time, ensuring compliance to the quality and delivery metrics. Troubleshoot traction converters and control products in a customized application to locate fault, and complete repairs as required.
  • Work with high power test systems and to execute the Matlab/Labview based applications to perform traction converter testing. Understand the functioning of the traction converter (as a machine in whole) and the functioning of individual subsystems.
  • Experience of conducting the Dielectric tests and communication tests for different protocols (Ethernet, CAN, MVB ) is vital. Inform quality and assembly line for any discrepancies and issues observed during product testing.
  • Document the test procedure process and test protocol and upload them to the quality and production databases. Perform routine repairs and maintenance of test systems and equipment. Maintain the test infrastructure including test equipment by performing periodic inspections/ maintenances


  • Associate Degree in Electronics (or equivalent field, e.g. engineering) is required with previous manufacturing assembly experience.
  • Candidate must possess the ability to understand and interpret electrical schematics, drawings and other work documents to effectively assemble and troubleshoot products.
  • Previous experience as a test technician preferred.
