Launch Logistics Specialist contract opportunity with an automotive manufacturing client located South of the Birmingham, AL area. This position will be responsible to coordinate material supply method planning for projects to ensure successful launch readiness for production. Local candidates or those able to self relocate preferred.


  • Report and escalate to management at plant level if project milestones or supply planning requirements are at risk
  • Liaison to the work group critical parts to ensure all critical topics are escalated if milestones are at risk
  • Plan and arrange weekly / bi-weekly communication among cross functional teams
  • Ensure close communication to and alignment with internal partners (logistics, planning, purchasing, etc.) and suppliers
  • Track part release status, develop needed action plans and escalate risks requiring resolution
  • Initiate measures to address deviations which impact achieving milestones and following through to successful closure
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities consistent with the classification of the position


  • Bachelors Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Approximately 3 or more years experience in a manufacturing environment in areas such as Supply Chain management, Logistics Planning, Process Engineering or Production Control
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Experience working with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel to suppliers as needed
  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus
