CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT MANAGER opportunity at a solid manufacturing firm in St. Louis, MO. Need Bachelor degree Engineering and 5+ years experience manufacturing environment as well as Six Sigma Black Belt. certification Growth opportunity. Includes relocation.

Responsibilities for the Continuous Improvement Manager

  • Lead a team of 2 Engineers in manufacturing plant continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory, and company metrics
  • Plan, develop, initiate and monitor Lean/Six Sigma (6σ)/Continuous Improvement projects, throughout plant facilities and serve as subject matter expert for supporting and effectively utilizing lean manufacturing tools and six sigma
  • Strategize with company management to initiate Lean/Six Sigma (6σ)/Continuous Improvement projects. Determines the scope, objectives, metrics, cost, schedule, and necessary resource requirements
  • Lead the planning and execution, from start to completion, and works side-by-side with work area management and associated work groups to fully implement and assure sustaining mechanisms are in place
  • Drive the completion of tasks generated in project meetings and monitors sustaining activities to ensure successful and timely completion of action items and tracks financial results and reports on quantifiable goals and objectives

Requirements for the Continuous Improvement Manager

  • Four-year degree in technical field, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent related work experience
  • 5+ years lean/continuous improvement manufacturing experience
  • Certified and practicing Six Sigma Black Belt and Lean Manufacturing Certification
  • A PLUS to have experience in (a) automotive manufacturing, (b) die cast OR extrusion, AND/OR (c) experience in the following, TS 16949, ISO, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, Cost of Quality, etc.
  • good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
