Immediate need for a Production Supervisor on 2nd Shift located in Fort Smith, AR for a growing industrial manufacturer that services the industrial and transportation markets. This role is responsible to coordinate and direct the activities of an assigned team engaged in the production of assemblies and finished product. Candidates must have at least a High School Diploma to be considered (B.S Degree is preferred) and at least Three (3) years of production supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility. Responsibilities for the Production Supervisor

  • Plans, organizes, and directs the day-to-day work flow and activities of assigned employees
  • Coordinate production and direct maintenance activities to ensure team achieves daily Safety, Quality, Production, and 5S goals.
  • Monitor and track department production performance, document abnormalities and take immediate corrective action
  • Make recommendations for machines and equipment improvements and coordinate their maintenance needs
  • Provide training to technicians and production operators to ensure employee understanding and adherence to company rules and regulations
  • Attend morning production meeting to review schedule and prioritize any problems and / or breakdowns with the whole team
  • Supervise hourly production and maintenance employees, including employee hiring and retention, and discipline.

Requirements for the Production Supervisor

  • High School Diploma is required
  • Associates Degree or B.S Degree in a related technical degree is coveted
  • A minimum of Three (3) years of production supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is required
  • Experience working in a union manufacturing plant is preferred
  • Experience and ability to train and develop production team
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, work flows, and process outcomes to make improvements
