A large Power Engineering and Construction client will need multiple Construction Managers with at least 3 years utility construction management experience, for projects in the Eastern US. Locations will vary and project start dates range from June to August. If you are flexible this could be an outstanding opportunity. This is a contract position with the possibility of becoming permanent if performance warrants.

Responsibilities

• Use your experience in electric power utility construction management to manage projects like substations, power lines, etc. from mobilization to commissioning
• Manage the day to day work of construction and technical staff, consultants and contractors involved in the projects
• Maintain a safe work site
• Develop a detailed schedule, budget, and set priorities and goals for all reports
• Prepare reports for the main office and bring in the projects on time and under budget

Requirements

• Extended experience in power utility construction – transmission lines, substations, wind farms, solar, etc
• At least 3 years experience as a construction manager for utility projects
• Broad experience in all aspects of electric utility substation construction including civil, structural, protection & control, and commissioning
• Experience with renewable energy projects such as solar or wind is a major plus
• Well organized, focused, goal oriented, with good people skills and negotiating skills
