An independent manufacturer of revolutionary, state-of-the-art drilling equipment has an immediate need for an Electrical Sustaining Engineer, for their facility in Houston, Texas.

Responsibilities

• Strong electrical troubleshooting, analytical, and design skills
• Design, build, and sustain electronics hardware and software for the manufacturing department to improve reliability and/or efficiency in testing electronic modules and sub-components
• Automate electronic test equipment
• Develop electronics hardware/software for data acquisition systems
• Develop processes to improve data collection and analysis
• Root-cause analysis on field-tools
• Modify manufacturing documentation (wiring diagrams, BOMs, test procedures etc.)

Requirements

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering
• “Hands on” electrical skills required for lab work that can include tool assembly or disassembly and test fixture set-up
• Enthusiasm for working in a diverse, technically demanding, and exciting technology environment
• Experience with electronics test fixture development for an oilfield mfg environment
• Experience with C/Labview/Labwindows is a plus
• Basic knowledge of data acquisition systems, sensors, and data processing is a plus
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Strong electrical troubleshooting, analytical, and design skills
