A leading electrical Engineering and Construction Firm is looking for a QA / QC Construction Inspector with electrical substation and transmission line construction experience for a 6 month contract assignment.. Job location is outside Columbia, SC. Locals are preferred, no relocation or per diem.

Responsibilities

• Use your experience with electrical power substation and transmission construction to perform quality verification on installation of new high voltage switchyard equipment
• Perform inspections of construction to verify that the work is done according to specifications
• Prepare inspection reports documenting the installation by the third party construction contractor
• Prepare as-built drawings
• Complete punch list for final inspection and walk-through
• Participate in a “Lessons Learned” meeting at the project closeout

Requirements

• 10 plus years of high voltage electrical substation and transmission line construction experience as an Inspector, Supervisor, or QA/QC Manager
• Thorough understanding of OSHA safety requirements for high voltage substation and switchyard construction
• Good computer skills and attention to detail when completing reports
• Experience ordering minor materials
