Position located in Houston, TX for a Technical Services Engineer responsible for providing after-market technical support for this client's licensed processes associated with refining and petrochemical services worldwide. This will include billable and non-billable technical support to licensees including customer training, equipment commissioning, start-up supervision and guarantee acceptance testing. - Assist licensees in personnel training and start-up
- Communicate and effectively teach licensees in the best practices of operating technologies to optimize performance
- Gather and analyze limited and sometimes partially correct or erroneous, customer operating information and offer effective recommendations to resolve current problems and to prevent future problems
- Prioritize, organize and efficiently complete daily work requirements from ever-changing external customer inquiries as well as internal customers
- Respond to client emails, phone calls other contact requests on a timely basis and provide technically sound responses to all customer inquiries, 365 days a year
Requirements - Chemical Engineering Degree
- 5 - 10 years hands-on experience in refining or petrochemical operations or start-up activities or technical service assignments
- Ability to present and teach technical information to large and small groups of customer personnel with varying experience and aptitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to customers who may not understand English very well
- Ability to understand and communicate all information on Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Broad understanding of refinery process technology, equipment, instrumentation and control, system testing, laboratory analysis and calibration methods is required
- Willing to travel internationally 30-50% of the time, with occasional extended assignments
- Able to climb vessels, pipe racks and related equipment in refineries and chemical plants
- Proficiency in various MS Office applications
