Leading provider of wireless network solutions has an immediate need for Microwave Test Engineer for a salaried 6+ month or longer contract opportunity in the metro Seattle, WA area

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the validation of new microwave radio hardware and software release
• Responsible for lab qualification, new product/release introductions into the field, and providing ongoing support for the field operations teams
• Develop and execute unit and systems test plans and test cases for new products
• Develop and execute regression test plans and test cases for maintenance and emergency releases
• Validate the functionality and performance of microwave radio equipment
• Document test plans and test results
• Document and track product defects encountered during the execution of test cases
• Interact with Network Engineering, Field Operations and Technology Development to develop and test deployable microwave network designs
• Coordinate with Technology development on the system integration testing of microwave product with WiMAX switching, RAN, and OSS network elements
• Identify and document recommended hardware and software configurations and settings

Requirements

• BS in Engineering preferred
• 3 years of experience in microwave network design and engineering
• Experience with testing, engineering or deployment of wireless backhaul and microwave radio technology
• Knowledge of microwave radio technology and Layer-2 networking
• Background in testing a variety of platforms including Layer-2 networking elements and transport networks
• Hands on experience with networking equipment and troubleshooting at the packet level
• Knowledge of tools like wireshark, iperf, ixia, radcom etc for measurement and analysis is preferred
• Understanding of Ethernet, MAC layer switching and communication, VLAN, SNMP, Unix/Linux and scripting languages such as Perl
