Electrical Project Engineer needed to oversee the design of natural gas transmission compressor stations in the US. This is a long term contract assignment in Houston, TX. Responsibilities - Manage the electrical and controls design of compressor stations by a third party engineering firm
- Ensure that the design milestones are completed,meet the technical requirements set forth in the design basis, meets all all the federal and/or local codes for that location, & that the facility is constructible, operable and maintainable by Transmission Operations
- Ensure that the bid process and purchase of material meets the design and construction schedule set forth by the Project Manager & manages the material costs to the allotted budget
- Provide technical support during the developmental/permitting phase, the construction phase and the commissioning phase of the project
Requirements - Experience in the design of large horsepower (10,000 to 30,000 HP) turbine and electrical motor driven centrifugal compressor stations
- Experience in Industrial systems and Hazardous Classified Areas meeting NEC requirements & Federal Energy and Regulatory Code Requirements - DOT Part 192
- Power Experience should include working with the following: 120/208 volt systems, 480 volt systems, 4160 volt systems
- Controls Experience should include: PLC base control systems, Motor Controls Circuits, valve actuators, PID Loop controllers, Emergency Shutdown Systems
- Instrumentation: smart and analog transmitters, pneumatic gauges, pressure differential pressure & temperature transmitters, level gauges & transmitters, RTDs & thermocouples, thermowells, flame & gas detector systems
- BS in Electrical Engineering: Minimum of 7 to 10 years in the Natural Gas Transmission Industry
