GIS COORDINATOR is needed for a temp-to-hire position in Atlanta. Immediate Need! Local Candidates only! You will work with digitized maps,preparing, implementing and designing them. Responsibilities

• Prepare, design and implement digital maps for site planning that include analysis and interpretation of spatial characteristics, existing land use, future land use, historic resources and natural resources.
• Coordinate geographic and tabular information for site and building databases, and prepare and coordinate technical material, digital aerial photography and presentations
• . Assist in process and quality assurance for site planning products.
• Compile information for internal and external marketing materials. Prepare prospective company proposals.
• Evaluate mapping software and hardware and translate verbal and written requests into computer based designs and printed projects. Coordinate the integration of site planning products with the Internet including HTML, web programming, FTP sites and email.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree (B.A. or B.S.) in geography, planning, landscape architecture, or related fields
• Four years of experience in operating GIS systems in related fields including programming experience in Arc/info, ArcView, Access, Visual Basic and other similar software; Certification as an ESRI Instructor would be a plus.
• Able to travel 5% or less to local, regional, state and national business functions/appointments. May require some evening and weekend work.
• Ability to think analytically and develop creative solutions to problems, technical report preparation and translation of verbal and written requests into computer based designs and printed projects.
• Strong GIS software and database systems and peripheral hardware knowledge.
